Help & Guides
Drawing Tools
Pen (Freehand)
Select the Pen tool from the toolbar. Click and drag on the canvas to draw a freehand path. The color and line width can be adjusted via the color picker and slider in the toolbar. Drawings are persisted to the database after releasing the mouse button.
Line (Straight Line)
Select the Line tool. Click to set the start point, drag to the end point, and release. A straight line is created between the two points.
Rectangle
Select the Rectangle tool. Click and drag to draw a rectangle. Useful for zone markers and area highlights.
Text
Select the Text tool. Click on a position on the canvas, then type your text. The text is placed at the clicked position and saved as a persisted drawing.
Icon Tool
Select the Icon tool (sticker icon) in the toolbar. A picker popover appears with:
- Operators/Agents — grouped by attacker/defender side
- Gadgets — with pre-loaded icons
Select an icon and click on the canvas to place it. Icons have a default size of 40px and work like any other drawing — they can be removed with the eraser and undone with undo.
Eraser
Select the Eraser. Move the cursor over drawings — the target is highlighted. Click to delete the drawing. The eraser uses precise hit-testing algorithms:
- Paths: Checks proximity to each line segment
- Lines/Rectangles: Checks geometric intersection
- Text/Icons: Checks bounding box overlap
Undo / Redo
- Undo:
Ctrl+Zor the Undo button in the toolbar - Redo:
Ctrl+YorCtrl+Shift+Zor the Redo button in the toolbar
Each user has their own history — undo/redo only affects your own drawings, not your teammates’.
Laser Pointer
Laser Dot
The Laser Dot tool shows a glowing, pulsating point at your cursor position, visible to all room members. Perfect for pointing at a specific door, window, or angle.
- Select the crosshair icon in the toolbar
- Move your cursor to the desired position
- All room members see the dot
Laser Line
The Laser Line tool draws temporary lines that all room members see.
- Select the presentation icon in the toolbar
- Click and drag to draw a line
- The line fades smoothly over 3 seconds after releasing
Both laser tools are purely ephemeral — nothing is saved to the database.
Navigation
Zoom
- Mouse wheel: Zoom in/out, centered on cursor
- +/- Buttons: Bottom-right corner of the canvas
- Range: 25% to 400% in 10% steps
- Reset: Button in the bottom-right corner → back to 100% and centered
Zoom is implemented via CSS transforms (translate + scale), not canvas redraw — making it extremely fast.
Pan
- Pan tool: Select in the toolbar and drag
- Middle mouse button: Hold and drag (works with any tool)
Floor Switching
- Floor switcher: Dropdown in the top-right corner of the canvas
- Keyboard:
K= one floor up,J= one floor down
Each floor has its own set of drawings.
View Mode Switcher
Buttons in the top-left corner of the canvas (only visible when the floor has multiple variants):
- Blueprint: Default colored version
- Darkprint: Dark/black version
- Whiteprint: White/clean version
Keyboard Shortcuts
| Shortcut | Action |

Collaboration
Creating Rooms
- Click Create Room (requires login)
- Select a game and a map
- Share the room link or connection code with teammates
- Everyone can draw together in real-time
Live Cursors
When joining a room, you are automatically assigned one of 10 colors. Your cursor position is broadcast to all room members. Cursors show the username and assigned color.
Guests
Anyone with the room link can watch as a guest. Guests can see drawings, cursors, and updates, but cannot draw — logging in is required for that.
Sharing Battle Plans
- Open your plan
- Toggle the Public switch
- Click Share to copy the link
- Anyone can view the plan without logging in
Sandbox Mode
Sandbox lets you draw on any map without logging in. All drawings stay local in your browser and are not sent to the server. Great for trying out TactiHub.
How to use it:
- Go to the homepage
- Click Sandbox
- Select a game and a map
- Draw with all available tools
Magic Link Login
Magic Link provides a passwordless login alternative. Instead of entering username and password, you can have a login link sent to your email.
How It Works
- Go to the Magic Link page (link on the login page)
- Enter your email address or username
- Click Send Magic Link
- You receive an email with a login link (valid for 15 minutes)
- Click the link — you are logged in automatically
The Magic Link can only be used once. After clicking, the token is invalidated. Especially useful if you forgot your password or don’t want to type it.
Operator Lineup
Each battle plan has a Lineup of 5 defender operator slots. Open the Icon Sidebar and switch to the Lineup tab.
Defender Lineup
- Use the dropdown selectors to choose operators for the 5 defender slots
- Already-assigned operators are hidden in other dropdowns
- Once operators are assigned, the Operators and Gadgets tabs automatically filter to lineup members
Attacker Lineup (Optional)
- Click “Add Attacker Lineup” in the Lineup tab to create 5 attacker slots
- Attackers only appear in the sidebar when an attacker lineup exists
- Remove it anytime with the trash icon next to the Attackers header
”Show all” Toggle
- Enable “Show all” in the Operators or Gadgets tabs to display all entries
- Non-lineup operators and gadgets are shown with an orange “Not in Lineup” warning
- When no operators are assigned yet, all are displayed (no filtering)
Real-Time Sync
Lineup changes are synced in real-time to all room participants. The lineup is also displayed on the Battle Plan Viewer page as operator avatars.
In-Room Chat
Use the Chat panel to send text messages to all room participants. Click the Chat button in the bottom-left corner of the room.
- Messages are ephemeral — they are not saved and disappear when you leave the room
- Each username is shown in their assigned room color
- An unread badge appears on the chat button when new messages arrive
- Guests can read messages but must log in to send
Select, Resize & Rotate
Select the Select tool (arrow icon) in the toolbar, then click on one of your drawings.
- Move: Drag the selected drawing to reposition it
- Scale: 8 handles at corners and edges — drag to resize
- Rotate: Circle handle above the selection — drag to rotate
- Auto-switch: After drawing, the tool automatically switches to Select so you can adjust immediately
You can only select your own drawings — other users’ drawings appear dimmed.
Battleplan Tags
Organize your battle plans with tags like “Rush”, “Default”, “Retake”, “Aggressive”, etc.
- Tags can be added when creating a plan or later in the Battle Plan Viewer
- Use suggested tags or type your own (max 10 tags, 30 characters each)
- Public plans can be filtered by tags on the community page
- Tags are displayed as colored badges on plan cards
